Energy audit identifies opportunities to reduce energy use and CO₂ emissions at the Vissenbjerg manufacturing facility.
Integris has completed a mandatory energy audit (Energisyn) at its manufacturing facility in Vissenbjerg, Denmark. Conducted in line with requirements based on the European Union’s Energy Efficiency Directive (EED), the audit has resulted in a signed and approved Energy Action Plan 2026 identifying opportunities to improve energy efficiency and reduce the facility’s environmental impact.
The action plan outlines three initiatives involving heating infrastructure and solar photovoltaic (PV) generation. Each has been assessed for its potential contribution to lower energy consumption and improved operational efficiency.

Identifying Opportunities for Energy Savings
The largest identified opportunity is replacing the facility’s high-temperature water boiler. The action plan estimates that this measure could save 2,322 MWh of energy annually and reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 478 tonnes per year. Implementation is currently planned for 2028.
A second proposal involves replacing the space-heating boiler, with estimated potential annual savings of 235 MWh and reductions of 48 tonnes of CO₂ . This project is currently on hold and has no confirmed implementation date.
“The energy audit has given us a clearer picture of where we can make meaningful improvements to our energy consumption. By identifying practical opportunities and establishing a structured action plan, we can make informed decisions that support both operational efficiency and our environmental objectives. It’s an important step in ensuring that sustainability remains part of how we develop and improve our manufacturing processes.” - Jakob Bøgholm, Environmental & Material Specialist, Integris
Exploring Renewable Energy
The third initiative is a proposed solar PV installation, with estimated annual energy savings of 82 MWh. This project is also currently planned for 2028. As with the other measures, the figure represents an estimate from the action plan rather than savings already achieved.

Supporting Our Global ESG Commitments
The Vissenbjerg audit provides a practical example of how Integris is translating environmental objectives into site-level assessment and planning. Across its global operations, Integris continues to identify opportunities for responsible resource management, efficient manufacturing and reduced environmental impact.
The initiatives are at different stages of planning, and projected savings will depend on implementation. The approved action plan nevertheless establishes a measurable basis for evaluating future energy-efficiency investments.
